The 36th annual conference of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Musikpsychologie e.V. 2020 will take place at the Institute Human-Computer-Media of the Julius-Maximilians-University of Wuerzburg. The conference’s main topic will be „Psychology of Popular Music“. Popular music does not only refer to pop music (in this context) but to every type of music popular in specific audiences – for example, hip-hop, heavy metal, Schlager music, folk music, or scores from movies or series. Printed Volume 28 ("Music Psychology – Music and Motion") has been published by Waxmann

Volume 28 of the Yearbook of Music Psychology has been published as a printed book by Waxmann Verlag (Münster, Germany). Beside the research papers that have been recently published as Open Access at jbdgm.psychopen.eu the book contains some additional bonus metarial, e.g. book reviews and conference reports.
The book is now available in bookstores and will be sent to the members of the German Society for Music Psychology free of charge as part of their membership.


Call for Papers | JBDGM Volume 29: "Music in Audiovisual Contexts"

The next volume of the Yearbook of Music Psychology will cover the topic of Music in Audiovisual Contexts. Hereby we would like to invite you to submit contributions in German or English language to the main topic for this volume (jbdgm.psychopen.eu).


The new Website goes online

Due to the increasing use of mobile devices, it has become necessary to update the website. Along with the update changes in design and functionality have been made. The website is currenty being expanded and tested. A number of texts have to be translated for the english version, which will take some time. We apologize for any inconvenience.
